Darnell Smith Recognized by National Football Foundation

Oklahoma State football standout Darnell Smith was recently inducted into the inaugural class of the National Football Foundation's National Honor Society in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments in the classroom and on the playing field.
Smith was a four-year letterwinner for the Cowboys and was recently named OSU's Male Student-Athlete of the Year. The San Antonio native was an Academic-All American this season and graduated with a degree in economics in December. Earlier this week, Smith was selected to be one of the recipients of the 2006-07 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate scholarship.
To be considered for the society, a nominee must have a 3.2 GPA or better, been a starter of significant contributor and must demonstrate outstanding leadership and citizenship.
Smith is one of 348 student-athletes from 195 schools that make up the inaugural class.
