Cowboys Lose Final Game At Big 12 Baseball Championship

OKLAHOMA CITY Â Oklahoma State's losing streak hit six games Saturday as the Cowboys suffered a 13-1 run-rule loss to Missouri in seven innings in the Big 12 Conference Baseball Championship at the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark.
The 15th-ranked Cowboys dropped to 38-19 with the loss, which was their fourth to No. 11 Missouri (40-16) this season.
OSU will now await its NCAA Tournament fate. Regional pairings will be announced Monday on ESPN at 11:30 a.m., and tournament play begins Friday.
In Saturday's contest, Mizzou struck for a pair of runs off OSU starter Martin Beno in the top of the first inning as Jacob Priday's two-RBI double made the score 2-0.
The Tigers doubled their lead in the second, as an RBI single by Brock Bond plated their third run and a balk by OSU reliever Josh Fritsche gave Mizzou a 4-0 advantage.
Over the fourth and fifth innings, the Tigers erupted for eight runs to take control of the game. A five-run fourth frame was highlighted by a two-RBI single by Bond and a three-run home run by Priday, and after scoring three runs in the fifth, Mizzou led 12-1.
OSU's lone run came in the fourth when a single by Keanon Simon scored Tyler Mach.
Beno suffered the loss as he gave up four runs on four hits in just 1.2 innings of work and fell to 1-3 on the season.
Ty Wright was 2-for-3 in the loss to extend his hitting streak to 34 games, while Simon also had a pair of hits and has now hit safely in 11 consecutive games. OSU's only other hit was a single by Matt Mangini.
Rick Zagone improved to 7-2 for the Tigers, striking out six in six innings of work.
