Cowboy Baseball Selected For NCAA Fayetteville Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. Â The Oklahoma State Cowboys were awarded a No. 3 seed in the 2007 NCAA Fayetteville Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., it was announced Monday.
OSU finished third in the Big 12 Conference regular-season standings and will bring a 38-19 overall record into the the tournament. Joining the Cowboys in Fayetteville are host and top-seeded Arkansas, who owns a 41-19 record and is also the No. 7 national seed, along with second-seeded Creighton (44-14) and fourth-seeded Albany (29-27).
The Cowboys will be making their second consecutive appearance in an NCAA Regional in Fayetteville. OSU was the No. 1 seed in the 2006 Fayetteville Regional.
OSU, which is making its second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance and third in four years under head coach Frank Anderson, will open play at Baum Stadium on Friday against Creighton
“We're excited to be going back to Arkansas,” Anderson said. “As always, when you get into the NCAA Tournament, every team is tough, but we have confidence that we have a team that can compete at a high level and give us a chance to win.”
OSU has not faced any of the teams in the Fayetteville Regional field this season, but the Cowboys are confident as they begin their quest towards what they hope will be OSU's first berth in the College World Series since 1999.
“We're pumped,” said OSU senior left fielder Ty Wright. “We're confident and ready to go to Arkansas and play and see what happens. We've been there before and won in a tough environment so we'll be ready.
“We know what we're capable of, and we just have to go out and prove it.”
