Dietz Sets Qualifying Mark at Nebraska Invite

“This is a big turning point in Merritt's career,” Cowgirl head coach said. “As of the past couple weeks, she has struggled a little bit. It seems she has overcome that and we hope she continues to improve.”
Dietz, who became the ninth Cowgirl to reach qualifying standards, finished sixth with a mark of 158-03 (48.23-meters).
Also in the event, junior finished third as she improved her qualifying mark with distance of 167-07 (51.07-meters).
The Cowgirls then got an impressive performance in the shot put from junior , where she finished second with a toss of 49-01.75 (14.98-meters).
Junior then added a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 171-07 (52.29-meters).
