Steyn Sets Qualifying Mark at TCU Invitational

Steyn, who became the sixth Cowgirl to qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, finished second with a distance of 19-09 (6.02-meters). The Cowgirls then got a fifth-place finish from senior Zivile Siksnelyte and an eighth-place finish from sophomore Baiba Blumbaha in the event.
The Cowgirls then claimed four of the top five spots in the triple jump led by Siksnelyte's first-place finish. Siksnelyte improved her regional qualifying mark with a distance of 41-08.00 (12.70-meters), while Blumbaha, sophomore Mateja Posavec and Steyn finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
OSU then got three solid performances from its throwers at the Kansas Relays in
Roman, who was the first Cowgirl to set a regional qualifying mark this season, improved her mark with throw of 165-09 (50.53-meters).
Junior Deleanor Kirkpatrick then inched closer to setting a regional qualifying mark in the hammer throw as she finished eighth with a distance of 166-05 (50.72-meters). Junior LaKendra Greathouse then added an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 47-07 (14.50-meters).
