Soccer Announces 2007 Fall Schedule
April 16, 2007 | Cowgirl Soccer
OSU will play three teams in the non-conference portion of its schedule that advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season, including national runner-up Notre Dame. The Cowgirls will visit South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Tournament Sept. 14-16, where they will face Washington State and the Fighting Irish.
OSU returns home the following weekend to face a pair of regional rivals in Colorado College and SMU on Sept. 21 and 23, respectively. Colorado College lost in the first round of the tournament to Colorado, while SMU fell in the second round to Texas A&M.
There will be an exciting conference season at home as three of the top five Big 12 finishers last season visit the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. Texas A&M visits Stillwater on Oct. 5 and is the only team OSU has never defeated in the Big 12. The Aggies advanced to the Elite Eight where they lost to eventual champion North Carolina, 3-2.
Texas comes to town on Oct. 26. The Cowgirls have won four of the last six meetings against the Longhorns, including a 1-0 victory last year in Austin. OSU will then play host to Colorado on Oct. 28, which OSU defeated 2-1 last season. Both schools advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2006.
The Cowgirls conclude the regular season with Bedlam at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex. OSU has owned the Bedlam Series winning nine of the 12 meetings, including twice last year.
The Big 12 Championship begins on Nov. 7 in San Antonio. The NCAA Tournament starts the following week on Nov. 16 at campus sites across the country.
