Cowboy Golf Completes Day One At U.S. Collegiate Championship

Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 10-over 298 team score on Monday during the first round of the United States Collegiate Championship to come in tied for fifth place at The Golf Club of Georgia.
OSU finished the day tied with Georgia State and just two shots behind Georgia and Wake Forest for third place. The Cowboys will begin round two six shots off the pace of co-leaders Georgia Tech and Clemson.
Clemson's Tanner Ervin and Georgia's Chris Kirk stand atop the individual leaderboard after each player posted a 2-under 70 at the par-72, 7,017-yard layout.
Sophomore Trent Leon carded OSU's top score of the day with a 73 to stand in a tie for 13th place, while senior Tyler Leon was one stroke off the pace of his younger brother with a 74 that put him in a tie for 22nd.
Fresh off his historic win at the European Tour's Estoril Open de Portugal last week, junior Pablo Martin posted an opening round of 75 to come in tied for 28th.
Senior Ryan Posey's 76 tied him for 36th place, while freshman Chris Ward's 82 placed him in a tie for the 71st position.
The Cowboys will return to the course tomorrow morning at 9:09 a.m. (EST) for their second round and will be paired with Georgia and UCLA.
