Cowboys Complete Second Scrimmage Of The Spring
March 08, 2007 | Cowboy Football
“It wasn't perfect but the attitude and body language are very good and we continue to get better each day,” said the third-year head coach. “I think they're excited to get to the pads on Friday and have a Âthud” practice. We won't actually tackle, but we can run into each other a bit. It's a great opportunity to evaluate the younger players. ”
The Cowboys have spent much of the first two workouts on fundamentals and seven-on-seven drills. Under new defensive coordinator Tim Beckman, the Cowboy defenders have been on their toes from sideline to sideline.
“I think it's very evident early on that the intensity on the defensive side is going to bring out the best in the receivers,” said Gundy. “It always works out that way when you have good players on both sides of the ball. When you have players that fight on both sides of the ball you have really good one-on-one drills.”
