Holst Runs Regional Qualifying Time at Stanford Invite

Holst, who finished fourth in a time of 10:37, improved her personal record by 11 seconds as she became the second Cowgirl to qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, May 25-26.
“For a freshman I think she ran a smart race,” Cowgirl head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “In her first season, she has been able to go out each meet and continue to improve her times.”
The Cowgirls then got two solid performances in the 10,000-meter run from freshman Tone Hjalmarsen and Maria Trejo as the duo also ran personal record times. Hjalmarsen, who ran a time of 35:14, had an impressive three minute improvement as she finished 10th in the event. Trejo, who improved her personal record by a minute, finished 23rd in a time of 35:56.
OSU will continue outdoor action today at the Stanford Invitational when junior Eva Tomankova will take the track at 2:30 p.m. as she will compete in the 1,500-meter run.
