Spring Football Hits Stretch Run At Oklahoma State
March 30, 2007 | Cowboy Football
OSU has six more practices before completing spring workouts with the Orange-White game on April 14th.
The mood remains upbeat around the Cowboy camp, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
“We had a good practice -- very good on defense,” head coach Mike Gundy said. “Great attitude, a lot of communication. I'm really excited about our players buying into the system. They're presenting a challenge for our offense and that's good for our football team.”
“They're having fun out there,” he added. “Football is a tough game and if you're not having any fun, you're not going to get better. When you have success at the end of the year, it bleeds over into the upcoming season and all through the spring and summer.”
Gundy continues to be impressed by the Cowboy cornerbacks and young receivers.
“There's been a lot of surprises out there,” he said of spring drills, “but overall just the attitude of the team. That makes me feel good as a coach.”
The Cowboys return to the practice field Friday afternoon with the possibility of a brief stretch of scrimmaging to be included. OSU will then take the weekend off before resuming practice on Monday.
