OSU Set to Host Hammer Throw

STILLWATER Â Oklahoma State's women's track and field team will open its outdoor season when it hosts the hammer competition as part of the Tulsa Duels at the Droke Track and Field Complex on Friday.
The hammer competition will feature Cowgirl throwers Deleanor Kirkpatrick, Branighan Vann, Merritt Dietz and Julie Rader.
The men's weight throw will kick things off at 4 p.m., with the women to follow. The event is open to the public with free admission, and fans are encouraged to attend. This is the only track and field event OSU will host this season.
The rest of the meet will be held at the Hurricane Track and Field/Soccer Complex in
Stephanie Lovely will look to lead the Cowgirls in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, while Tihana Sarac will debut in the 400-meter hurdles and Lauren McKee will run the 100 and 200-meter dash.
OSU will look to get a solid outing from its 4x400-meter relay team, led behind the running of Sarac, Fey Bashorun, Destyn Stallings and Baiba Blumbaha.
In other throwing events, Dietz and Alina Roman will compete in the discus and shot put, while Brandi Broaddus and Sabrena Switzer will throw the javelin.
