The Cowboys are 14-4 and have won nine of their last 10 games after defeating Western Illinois in a pair of mid-week games earlier this week. OSU is hitting a Big 12 Conference-best .347 and leads the league in runs and hits per game. Seven Cowboy regulars are hitting .338 or better. The Cowboy pitching staff has a collective 3.19 ERA, which ranks fourth in the Big 12. OSU will open a four-game weekend series against Hartford on Friday. A fourth game was added to the series as a makeup game, and the teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

In '06, OSU led the Big 12 in extra base hits, including topping the conference in home runs, triples and slugging percentage. OSU also ranked second in team batting average (.316) and runs (443), and seven different Cowboys batted at least .300.
The Cowboys are continuing that type of production at the plate in 2007. OSU leads the Big 12 in batting average (.347), slugging percentage (.554) and triples (12), and the Pokes rank second in runs (166), hits (231) and home runs (22).
Five Cowboys — Tyler Mach, Matt Mangini, Corey Brown, Matt Lopez and Rebel Ridling — rank among the top 20 hitters in the league, with Mach's .500 average topping the list.
OSU is averaging 9.2 runs and 12.8 hits per contest in '07, both of which lead the Big 12. The Cowboys have had at least 10 hits in 14 of their 18 games this season, with a season high of 24 vs. Western Illinois.
