Fleming Continues to Impress at J.D. Martin Invitational

Cowboy freshman Sean Fleming continued to impress in his debut season, finishing third in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:31.21. He has now captured three top-10 finishes in as many meets for the Pokes.
Fleming was one of six Cowboys to finish in the top-10 in the 1,000-meter run. Senior Ryan Ripley finished fifth with a time of 2:31.74, sophomore Matt Barnes-Smith finished sixth with a time of 2:32.44, redshirt freshman Peter Doroshuk finished seventh with a time of 2:33.89, junior Brian Ehlis finished eighth with a time of 2:34.56, and freshman Jerhoemee Murray finished 10th with a time of 2:37.33.
In the one-mile run, senior David Pomies finished third with a time of 4:20.15 to lead the way for the Cowboys. Sophomore Ryan Birkholz finished sixth with a time of 4:23.26 and redshirt freshman Marshall Summa finished seventh with a time of 4:24.31.
Three freshmen, Peter Wood, Clay Mayes and Ben Histand, also ran in the one-mile run. Wood finished ninth while Mayes and Histand finished 10th and 12th respectively.
In the 600-yard run, junior Aaron Rivera finished 11th with a time of 1:16.36, and in the 800-meter run, senior Terry Josserand's time of 1:56.73 was good for a third-place finish.
The Cowboys will be action next weekend as the team will split and head to two different locations. Half of the team will be in action at the Washington Husky Classic in
