NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Oklahoma State left nine runners stranded on the base paths as the 16th-ranked Cowboys dropped the second game of their series to Cal State-Northridge, 3-2, Saturday at Matador Field.
Oliver Odle was the tough-luck loser on the mound and fell to 1-1 on the season. The senior right hander tossed a complete game, striking out three and allowing eight hits.

The Cowboys added to their lead in the fifth. Keanon Simon led off the inning with a triple into the right-field corner and scored on a fielder's choice RBI by Tyler Mach to make the score 2-0.
CSUN (10-6) scored all of its runs in the the sixth as the Matadors plated three runs with two outs. After a controversial balk call against Odle moved Jonathan Sakurai to second base, C.J. Belanger delivered an RBI single for CSUN's first run. Kris Kasarjian then provided what would prove to be the game-winning hit with a two-RBI triple to give the home team a 3-2 lead.
Jimmy Jolicoeur earned the win for the Matadors to improve to 3-1, while Edwin Quirarte picked up his first save by working the final 2.2 innings without allowing a run.
