Cowboys Crush Ball State, 19-4

Oklahoma State's baseball team racked up 18 hits in a 19-4 rout of Ball State at the FAU Beach Ball Bash Sunday at FAU Stadium.
Junior Corey Brown hit a pair of home runs and collected a career-high six RBIs as the 16th-ranked Cowboys improved to 5-1 on the season. Tyler Mach added four hits for the Cowboys, while Rebel Ridling drove in three runs in the win.
Andrew Oliver picked up his first career win on the mound as OSU's freshman southpaw worked five innings, striking out five and allowing just one run on three hits.
OSU plated a run in its first at bat as Matt Mangini collected an RBI with a sacrifice fly to score Brown and give the Cowboys a 1-0 lead.
The Cowboys added to their lead in the second with a four-run rally. Ryan Pittman reached on an error to open the frame, and he scored on a double by Keanon Simon. Brown then delivered the big blow with an opposite field, three-run home run to make the score 5-0.
Coach Frank Anderson's club increased its lead in the third. Donnie Webb led off with a single, and Dusty Harvard followed with an RBI triple. Harvard would score on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Flavell to give the Cowboys a 7-0 advantage.
Ball State (0-4) finally got on the scoreboard in the fifth as Ryan Chenoweth smacked a solo home run to make the score 7-1.
OSU continued to light up the scoreboard with a five-run rally in the fifth. Flavell led off the inning with a triple and scored on an error by the Cardinals, and a sacrifice fly by Simon made the count 9-1. The Cowboys plated their 10th run on an error by Chenoweth, and an RBI single by Ridling gave OSU a 11-1 lead. Harvard provided the final run of the inning with an RBI double.
The Cowboys added three more runs in the sixth, with Brown, Mach and Ridling collecting RBIs.
In its final at bat, OSU plated four runs. Brown again provided most of the damage with a two-run homer, while Mangini had an RBI triple and Ridling an RBI groundout.
OSU returns to action Friday at Cal State-Northridge when they open a three-game series against the Matadors at 4 p.m.
