The Cowboys opened the 2007 season with a 3-0 showing at the Citrus Tournament in Edinburg, Texas last weekend. In the opener, OSU earned a 5-2 win over Lamar and followed that with a 7-0 blanking of McNeese State. The Cowboys completed the perfect weekend with a come-from-behind win over Illinois-Chicago as they scored four runs in the final two innings to win, 8-5. Coach Frank Anderson's squad returns to tourney action this weekend in Boca Raton, Fla., at the FAU Beach Ball Bash.
The Cowboys' Opponents
La Salle (0-0): OSU faces La Salle Friday at 2:30 p.m. The Explorers were 20-31 last season and return seven starters from that team. The game will be OSU's first ever against La Salle.
Florida Atlantic (6-0): Host FAU is the Cowboys' opponent Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The Owls are 6-0 in 2007, with series sweeps of Mississippi Valley State and Cincinnati. OSU is 1-1 all-time against FAU.
Ball State (0-0): The Cardinals take on OSU at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Ball State was 38-22 a year ago and won the Mid-American Conference Tournament title to earn the third NCAA Tournament berth in school history. The Cowboys have never faced BSU on the diamond.

OSU's highest ranking is No. 16 by the NCBWA. The Cowboys are ranked 17th by Baseball America, 23rd by USA Today and 24th by Collegiate Baseball. None of OSU's opponents this weekend are ranked.
