Cowboy Golf Finishes Second At UH Hilo Intercollegiate

The Cowboys entered the day with a four-stroke lead over the Cardinal and Georgia Tech before posting a 10-under par 270 during the final round. Stanford made up the four-stroke difference with a 266 and took home the title after posting the lower score among the two school's No. 5 players. Both schools finished at 37-under-par 803.
Individually, sophomore Jonathan Moore claimed his fourth career title for the Cowboys, erasing a two-shot deficit to move from third place into the top spot. The Vancouver, Wash, native followed up his career-low round of 62 on Thursday with a 5-under 65 to finish play with a 15-under total of 195 and four strokes clear of the field.
Sophomore Trent Leon posted a 66 during his final round to earn his first top-10 finish of the season. The Dallas, Texas native tied for fifth place at 201.
Junior Pablo Martin came in tied for 12th place at 203 after a round of 69, while senior Ryan Posey tied for 18th place at 205 after carding a 71.
Senior Tyler Leon rounded out the lineup with a 207 total after a round of 70 to finish tied for 30th.
The Cowboys will return to action on Feb. 25 at the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club.
