Cowgirl Track Heads to Kansas State All-Comers Meet

The Cowgirl Track and Field team will travel to Manhattan, Kan., for Sunday's Kansas State All-Comers Meet at Ahearn Field House.
The meet begins in the morning with the field portion of competition. There will be three Cowgirls competing in both the shot put and the weight throw competition including LaKendra Greathouse and Alina Roman in the shot put, Deleanor Kirkpatrick and Julie Radar in the weight throw and Merritt Dietz will compete in both.
Also competing in the field category will be Clarissa Andrews (long jump and triple jump), Baiba Blumbaha (long jump and triple jump), Mateja Posavec (triple jump) and Destyn Stallings (high jump.)
The track portion of the competition begins in the afternoon and continues through the evening. The Cowgirls will have 14 athletes compete in the areas of one-mile run (Kim Blomkvist, Brittany Brewer, Alina Istrate), 60-meter dash (Fey Bashorun, Kim Johnson, Tekeisha Lewis, Lauren McKee), 400-meter dash (Jazmine Harp), 600-yard run (Brandi Andrews, Irene Masai, Teran Mixon, Tihana Sarac, Kalea Tam), 1000-meter run (Alina Istrate, Miheala Susa) and 200-meter dash (Kim Johnson, Tekeisha Lewis, Lauren McKee.)
OSU will also have an A team and B team competing in the 1600-meter relay.
This will be the first event for the women's track and field team of the indoor season although it is an open event and there will be no team scoring.
