December 11, 2007 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State held its annual football banquet Sunday night, and several Cowboys were recognized for their contributions to the team's success during the 2007 season.
Sharing the Bob Fenimore Award as the most valuable player for the Cowboys were senior wide receiver Adarius Bowman and sophomore quarterback Zac Robinson.
Despite missing the final two games of the season, Bowman leads the Cowboys with 61 catches for 932 yards and seven touchdowns and ranks among the most productive receivers to ever put on an OSU uniform.
Robinson became a record setter in his first season as the Cowboys' starting quarterback, racking up an OSU-record 3,299 yards of total offense. That total includes 2,522 passing yards and 777 yards on the ground, and he has accounted for 27 touchdowns  20 through the air and seven rushing.
OSU honors for the most outstanding offensive and defensive players were also shared. Senior running back Dantrell Savage and junior tight end Brandon Pettigrew earned the Thurman Thomas Award for the most outstanding player on offense, while senior defensive end Nathan Peterson and junior safety Ricky Price shared the Leslie O'Neal Award for most outstanding defensive player.
Savage and Pettigrew were both first-team All-Big 12 Conference selections. Savage leads the Cowboys in rushing with 1,172 yards and eight touchdowns, while Pettigrew has hauled in 32 passes for 501 yards and four touchdowns.
A second-team all-conference performer, Peterson has racked up 43 tackles, including 14 for loss, and leads the Cowboys with six sacks and three quarterback hurries.
Price, playing on the defensive side of the ball for the first time in his OSU career, is second on the squad with 74 tackles to go along with a sack and three pass breakups.
Other Cowboys honored Sunday were Martel Van Zant (Mike Johnson Award); David Koenig (Barry Sanders Award); Matt Fodge (Special Teams Award); Kendall Hunter (Dick Bogert Award); and Ugo Chinasa (Dick Bogert Award). Savage also claimed the Dr. L.L. Boger Award.
