Cowgirl Track Has Strong Showing at Kansas State All-Comers

The Oklahoma State women's track and field team had a strong showing Saturday at the Kansas State All-Comers, recording top-10 individual performances in 10 different events as well as one team top 10 performance. The Cowgirls were particularly strong in the 600-yard run, with four finishers in the top 10.
In the weight throw, Deleanor Kirkpatrick finished fourth with a throw of 17.39m, while Julie Rader recorded a 10-place finish with a throw of 14.22m.The Cowgirls had three top-10 finishers in the shot put, with Merritt Dietz leading the way (4th, 14.32m), followed by LaKendra Greathouse (5th, 14.21) and Alina Roman (6th, 13.96).
Baiba Blumbaha and Clarissa Andrews were outstanding for the Cowgirls, recording top-five finishes in both the long jump and triple jump. Blumbaha recorded distances of 5.49m in the long jump and 12.00m in the triple jump en route to a first and second place finish, respectively. Andrews finished sixth in the long jump (5.12m) and fourth in the triple jump (11.49m). Mateja Posavec notched a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 11.67m.
Destyn Stallings picked up a 10th-place finish in the high jump with a best of 1.53m.
Kim Blomkvist had a strong day as well, recording a third place finish in the one mile run with a time of 5:25.25. In the 60-meter dash, Lauren McKee notched a seventh place finish (8.01), with teammate Fey Bashorun one spot back at 8.02. McKee also picked up a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.20. Jazmine Harp picked up a 10th-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.16.
The Cowgirls received top-10 performances from Irene Masai (3rd, 1:25.02), Brandi Andrews (4th, 1:27.16), Tihana Sarac (1:27.82) and Teran Mixon (7th, 1:28.51).
The Cowgirls also picked up a fourth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:59.39.
