Cowboy Golf Signs Three To Letters of Intent
November 15, 2007 | Cowboy Golf
Oklahoma State's men's golf team has announced the signing of three prep standouts to National Letters of Intent. Sean Einhaus, Morgan Hoffman and Peter Uihlein all inked with the Cowboys on Wednesday and will join the program for the 2008-09 season.
“I feel fortunate to have signed these three players and look forward to them joining our program,” Cowboy head coach Mike McGraw said. “All three have had success in junior golf and I hope they can continue their development at the college level.”
Einhaus, a native of Borken, Germany, joined the German National Junior Team in 2003 and became a member of the men's national team in 2006. He competed as a member of the European Junior Ryder Cup Team in 2006 and represented Germany at the World Amateur Team Championship that same year.
Einhaus became the first player in history to win each German national championship at every level, ranging from junior golf to men's competition. Einhaus currently attends Rocky Bayou Christian High School in Florida where he captured medalist honors this past fall at the District 1-A Tournament.
A first-team AJGA All-American in 2007, Hoffman has a pair of major victories to his credit, winning the 2006 Polo Golf Junior Classic and the 2007 Junior Players Championship. He also won the 2004 Nike Golf Junior at Quad Cities and has seven other top 10s since 2004, including a tie for ninth at the 2006 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
A native of Saddlebrook, N.J., Hoffman qualified for match play at the U.S. Amateur in 2005 and advanced to match play at the British Amateur Championship the following year.
For the second time in his career, Uihlein was named the Rolex Junior Player of the Year for his performance this past season. The Bradenton, Fla. native finished the year with seven top-10 finishes in national events, including a win at the FootJoy Boys Invitational and was named to his third consecutive Canon Cup squad.
In the past four seasons, Uihlein has won six national events and is the first player to ever win the AJGA's national player of the year honors in non-consecutive seasons after winning the award in 2005. Uihlein is also the 10th different AJGA National Player of the Year to join the Cowboy program since the award's inception in 1978.
