Postgame Notes vs. Texas A&M
Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007
Senior left guard David Koenig started his 30th consecutive game against Texas A&M. He has started 33 games in his four-year career in a Cowboy uniform.
Senior Dantrell Savage completed his first-career pass on a 29-yard scoring strike to Adarius Bowman with 10:32 remaining in the first half. He became the fourth different player to throw a TD pass this season.
OSU's 89-yard scoring drive in the second quarter was the third-longest by the Cowboys this season. It was also the 12th scoring drive this season that took less than two minutes.
By scoring at the 10:32 mark of the second quarter, Oklahoma State led on the road for the first time this season.
With a 47-yard scoring reception at the 6:49 mark of the second half, Bowman recorded his second multiple-TD game of the season (other against Florida Atlantic) and the fourth of his career, including a two touchdown effort vs. A&M a year ago.
Bowman now has 18 touchdown receptions in 19 games as a Cowboy. He also reached the 100-yard mark for the third time this season and fifth of his OSU career. His 142 yard total ranks third in his OSU career for a single game.
Bowman moved up to sixth place on the all-time career receptions list. He currently has 98 catches in his two-year career, and moved past Alonzo Mayes, Rafael Denson, Curtis Mayfield, TD Bryant and Dick Graham on the all-time list.
OSU's scoring drive to put the Pokes up 14-0 was the 11th this season that took five plays or less.
Jason Ricks' 32-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining in the first half was his longest of the season. His previous long was a 22-yarder vs. Sam Houston State last week.
OSU shut out a Big 12 Conference opponent in the first half for the first time since holding Baylor to zero points in the first half on Nov. 13, 2004. The last time the Cowboys held a Big 12 foe scoreless in the first half on the road was at Colorado on Oct. 9, 2004.
The 15-play drive in 7:29 to put the Cowboys up 20-10 marked the most plays and most amount of time taken in a scoring drive by Oklahoma State this season.
OSU finished with 259 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. It is the fourth time in the last five games that the Cowboys have reached the 200-200 mark.
With 11 points against Texas A&M, kicker Jason Ricks moved up to 10th place on the OSU career scoring list. He now has 195 points.
Tonight's loss marked just the third in the Mike Gundy era when the Cowboys were leading after three periods.
Sophomore linebacker Chris Collins did not make the trip to College Station. Cornerback Martel Van Zant played after missing last week's game against Sam Houston State.
