October 07, 2007 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State scored twice in the final 24 minutes of action for a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Baylor at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex Saturday night.
With the win, the 22nd-ranked Cowgirls got back to the .500 mark in Big 12 Conference play at 2-2-0, while improving to 8-3-1 overall. Baylor remained winless in the league, dropping to 0-3-1, and is now 6-5-2 on the season.
The Cowgirls fell behind 1-0 in the 59th minute as BU's Jessica Hutton beat several defenders and then found the back of the net from just outside the box.
Baylor's lead did not last long as just eight minutes later, All-American Yolanda Odenyo took a pass from Adriane Radtke and fired a shot past BU goalie Ashley Noah to tie the score at 1-1. The goal was Odenyo's second of the season, while Radtke collected her fourth assist.
Over the next 10 minutes, OSU, which outshot the visitors 26-6 in the match, had several opportunities to take the lead, including a penalty kick by Odenyo that Noah blocked away.
The Cowgirls finally converted in the 79th minute. Siera Strawser sent a perfect pass into the box that Radtke drilled past BU backup keeper Gianna Quintana, who came on for an injured Noah at the 16:35 mark. The goal was Radtke's third of the season and proved to be the game winner.
OSU returns to action Friday when they take on Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. at 4 p.m. The Cowgirls then travel to Columbia, Mo., for a Sunday showdown 1 p.m.
