October 31, 2007 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
LUBBOCK, Texas (OSU Athletics
The Cowgirls were led by freshman standout Mihaela Susa, who recorded a 15th place finish in a time of 21:24.70. She was followed by fellow freshman Lena Orn, who posted a 22nd place finish in 21:45.55. Rounding out the scoring for Oklahoma State was senior Maria Trejo (36th, 22:08.45), junior Brittany Mason (40th, 22:12.00) and senior Eva Tomankova (43, 22:16.00).
“I was pleased with the way we finished without having two of our top three runners (Tone Hjalmarsen and Marcela Lustigova),” said OSU head coach Rene Sepulveda. “It definitely made a difference in our scoring today not having them available.”
“Maria and Brittany had great races for us. Brittany probably ran the best race of her career for us today.”
The Cowgirls return to action Saturday, Nov. 10, when they travel to Peoria, Ill for the NCAA Midwest Regional.
