Peterson Named To Watch List
October 19, 2007 | Cowboy Football
Oklahoma State senior defensive end Nathan Peterson has been named to the mid-season watch list for the Ted Hendricks Defensive End Of The Year Award.
The list of potential winners is currently at 37 and will be trimmed to approximately six finalists in November.
Peterson, a product of Tulsa's Union High School, has 16.5 quarterback sacks in his career to rank seventh all-time at Oklahoma State. That total also ranks him No. 12 in the country among active NCAA players.
Peterson was an honorable mention all-Big 12 selection as a junior after recording 28 tackles. His eight quarterback sacks last season ranked fifth in the Big 12 and No. 44 nationally. He had sacks in seven of OSU's 13 games in 2006.
In 2007, Peterson already has 27 tackles, just one less than his 2006 season total. He also has two sacks as a senior. His current numbers also include seven tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He has 30 tackles for losses in his career.
