Men's, Women's Cross Country In Action This Weekend

The Basics
The Oklahoma State women's cross country team will compete in Fayetteville, Ark. this Saturday at the Chile Pepper Invitational. The 6,000-meter run will be held at the University of Arkansas Cross Country Course and will begin at 10:30 a.m. The course is a combination of grass, cinder and uneven terrain.
The OSU men's cross country team will be competing in the Pre-National Meet at Terre Haute, Ind. The 8000-meter event will be at the La Vern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Sports Center and will begin at 11:00 a.m.
OSU Lineups
Running for the Cowgirls this week will be Mihaela Ana Susa, Marcela Lustigova, Lena Orn, Tone Hjalmarsen, Eva Tomankova, Leah Schroeder, Anissa Angelosante, Brittany Mason, Teran Mixon and Irene Masai.
Running for the Cowboys this week will be David Chirchir, Matt Barnes-Smith, Daniel Watts, Brian Ehlis, Sean Fleming, Jerhoemee Murray, Tucker Weems, Clay Mayes, Brian Gosnell, David Jankowski and Peter Doroshuk.
Last Time Out
The Cowgirl varsity squad finished ninth at the Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 28th. Mihaela Susa, Tone Hjalmarsen and Lena Orn finished in the top-50.
At the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 29th, the Cowboys upset No. 5 Arkansas by placing three runners in the top 15 and six runners in the top 26 of the event. Junior Ryan Vail ran a 23:49 to lead OSU and place third overall. With a 24:19, Matt Barnes-Smith finished eighth.
Event History
At last year's Pre-National Meet, Oklahoma State's men's team finished eighth.
The last time the Cowgirls competed in the Chile Pepper Invitational was in 2005 when they captured first place.
OSU in the Polls
After defeating then No. 5 Arkansas at the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 29th, Oklahoma State's men's cross country team jumped to No. 4 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings.
But after not competing this last week, the Cowboys dropped two spots to No. 6 behind Oregon, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iona and Stanford.
