2005-06 (Sophomore Year): Earned All-America honors for the second time in as many years when he finished fifth at the NCAA Championships by pinning No. 9 Chad Mendes from Cal Poly in 58 seconds in the fifth-place bout ... Lost his opening round match, but won seven of his next eight to earn All-America honors ... Compiled a 31-7 overall record on the year, highlighted by eight wins over ranked opponents ... Big 12 runner-up ... Reno Tournament of Champions runner-up ... Champion of the season-opening Kaufman/Brand Open after claiming a 4-2 win over Minnesota's Andrew Domingues in the title bout ... Recorded a 22-5 technical fall victory over Lock Haven's Obenson Blanc at the NCAA Championships to go with a pin of Oregon State's Eric Stevenson at the 37-second mark at the NCAA meet ... Six of Scott's seven losses came at the hands of wrestlers ranked in the top 10 ... Had four falls, two technical falls and eight major decisions on the season ... 2004-05 (Freshman Year): Secured All-America honors in his first year at the collegiate level by finishing eighth at the NCAA Championships ... Big 12 Champion after a 2-1 overtime victory over Oklahoma's previously unbeaten and top-ranked Sam Hazelwinkel in the title bout ... Compiled a season record of 24-9, including a 7-5 record in duals ... Began the year redshirting behind two more experienced wrestlers ... Won an open title at the Fort Hays State Open ... Competed in the Central Missouri State Open, posting a third-place finish ... Placed third at the Kaufman/Brand Open a week later ... Pulled out of redshirt on Jan. 13 against Michigan State ... First varsity match was against third-ranked Nick Simmons of Michigan State ... Scott scored the first five points of the match, but lost it 6-5 on riding time ... Biggest win came over ninth-ranked Grant Nakamura of Iowa State in a match that clinched the dual for the Cowboys ... Scott entered his first Big 12 Tournament as the No. 3 seed ... Wrestled eighth-ranked Matt Keller of Nebraska in the semifinal round and pinned him in 6:21 ... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the national tournament after defeating eighth-seeded Bobbe Lowe ... Freestyle: In 2005, Scott went to the FILA Junior National Championships, but an injury ended his tournament prematurely and he defaulted out and settled for fourth-place ... Scott once again competed at the Junior National Championships in 2006 ... Scott won all six matches defeating Indiana's Angel Escobedo, 2-0, 1-0, in the finals ... Scott's national title gave him a bye to the finals at the FILA Junior World Team Trials ... In the finals, Scott met NCAA runner-up Troy Nickerson from Cornell ... The series went into a decisive third match and Scott won 1-0, 3-0 to qualify for the World Championships ... suffered an injury and defaulted to Canada's Jack Bond in the first round at the World Championships.
