2005-06: Friend was 11-3 with two saves, 137 strikeouts and a 2.43 ERA in his two-year career at Chabot College ... as a sophomore, he was an All- NORCAL selection after winning eight games while compiling a 1.68 ERA and 92 strikeouts.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterman in baseball ... first-team all-conference and second-team All-Nor-Cal as a senior ... was 7-3 with 84 strikeouts in 70 innings as a senior and hit .346 with 25 RBIs.
