Erin Stigler Earns National honor
September 27, 2006 | Cowgirl Soccer
Stigler, a native of Round Rock, Texas, made her first career start in goal against Kansas and recorded a shutout. She had three saves in the win and made smart decisions with the ball.
Stigler backed it up with another solid performance against 11th-ranked Colorado. She recorded three saves in the first half, including a nice diving stop on a hard hit shot just outside the box. Stigler allowed a goal that came on a free kick, while the defense was still getting set. She still earned the victory as the Cowgirls were triumphant over the Buffaloes, 2-1.
The Cowgirls play at Texas A&M on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game is being delayed by the Fox Soccer Channel and will air at 10:30 p.m. OSU then travels to Austin for a game against the Texas Longhorns on Friday at 7 p.m.
