Oklahoma State vs. Florida Atlantic Post-Game Notes
Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006
Oklahoma State's 3-0 start marks the third consecutive season the Cowboys have opened the season 3-0, only the second time in school history that has occurred. OSU also achieved the feat in 1983, '84 and '85.
The Cowboys have scored 135 points through their first three games of 2006. That marks OSU's highest point production in its first three games since the Pokes scored 160 in the first three games of 1988.
OSU has outscored its first three opponents by a combined 110 points, an average of 36.7 points per game.
Sophomore Mike Hamilton's six-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was his second rushing touchdown of the season, which surpassed  and doubled  his 2005 season total of one.
Hamilton's two-touchdown effort also marked the first multiple touchdown game of his career.
Sophomore Matt Fodge's 70-yard punt in the first quarter was his second 70-plus yard punt of the season. He booted a career-long 72 yarder in the season opener against Missouri State.
Freshman linebacker Chris Collins' fumble recovery return for a touchdown was the first time OSU has scored a touchdown on a fumble return since Grant Jones did it against Oklahoma on Oct. 30, 2004.
With Collins and junior Dantrell Savage scoring touchdowns today, 12 different Cowboys have now scored touchdowns this season.
Junior Adarius Bowman's 69-yard touchdown reception was his longest catch as a Cowboy and his longest since a 76-yard grab during his freshman season at North Carolina in 2003.
With two catches for 22 yards, senior D'Juan Woods now has at least one reception in 24-straight games.
Freshman linebacker Orie Lemon's interception in the fourth quarter was the first of his career.
Senior defensive end Marque Fountain recorded two sacks and a career-high four tackles for loss against the Owls. The two sacks matches Fountain's previous high for an entire season.
