The second round was supposed to be completed on Thursday, but was delayed due to inclement weather and later postponed due to darkness. After round two, the field was pared down to the top 50 players and ties before being narrowed to the top 16 players after 54 holes. Those who finished in the top 16 after round three will begin the match play portion of the event tomorrow morning.
Jonathan Moore stood in a fifth-place tie with a 36-hole total of 140, even par, after rounds of 69 and 71. The sophomore-to-be carded a 71 during his third round to finish in a five-way tie for seventh. The No. 9 seed, Moore will be paired against eighth-seeded Scott Pieri of Fort Wayne, Ind. in the first round of match play.
Won Joon Lee fired a record-tying 61 during his third round for a 10-under 200 total to claim medalist honors by five strokes. He will square off with Cowboy senior-to-be Tyler Leon during tomorrow's first-round action. Leon followed up an opening round of 71 with a 70 and a 73 to finish among the group tied for 13th place.
Pablo Martin carded three consecutive rounds of 71 to finish alone in 12th place at 213. The national player of the year as a sophomore in 2006, Martin will take on Billy Horschel during his first-round match.
