Cowgirls Breeze Past Texas State in Season Opener, 10-0

The 10 goals are the most OSU has ever scored on the road. The Cowgirls scored five in each half and put the game away early.
“We got up on them early and took the wind out of their sails,” co-head coach Karen Hancock said. “We never let up and kept the pressure on.”
The Cowgirls needed just 25 shots on goal to score 10 times. OSU out shot the Bobcats 25-7 and the Cowgirls had 16 of their 25 shots on target.
Following Rosholt's early goal, Ashlyn Brantley scored two minutes later to put the Cowgirls up two less than five minutes into the contest. Siera Strawser scored her first career goal to put OSU up three goals in the 19th minute.
Saŝa Jackson recorded her first career multi-goal game. Jamie Markaverich also netted two goals for the Cowgirls. Nobody could top Hope who scored her first career goal in the 58th minute. She scored again in the 78th minute and completed the hat trick in the 88th minute.
Hope became just the 11th player in school history to score a hat trick. Rosholt equaled the feat last season against
Jeanne Rankin started the game in net for the Cowgirls, and Erin Stigler finished off the shutout in the second half. Stigler recorded two saves in the second half.
