Cowgirls Face Texas State, Missouri State in Opening Weekend

OSU, coming off of a 1-0 exhibition victory over No. 24 Mississippi, won the only series meeting with Texas State last season. Yolanda Odenyo scored two goals to lead the Cowgirls past the Bobcats, 3-0.
TSU was picked third in the preseason Southland Conference poll. It is coming off of a 9-10 season and a third-place finish in the SLC in 2005.
OSU returns home on Sunday to face Missouri State at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex with kickoff set for 1 p.m. Oklahoma State is 8-2 in home openers after defeating Texas State to open the 2005 season.
Oklahoma State last played the Bears in 2001 when they were known as Southwest Missouri State. The Cowgirls won that contest 4-0 and lead the overall series 3-2.
The Bears were picked fifth in the preseason Missouri Valley Conference poll. MSU is coming off of a 9-4-5 season in 2005 and a third-place finish in the MVC.
