Two Cowboys Named Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars

An honorable mention All-American as a junior this past season, Leon competed in 12 events and compiled a 73.43 stroke average. For the year, the Dallas, Texas native tallied five top-20 finishes, including a tie for fifth place at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate. He was also in the starting lineup for the Cowboys during their run to their 10th national championship.
In addition, Leon was named a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection.
The honor added to an already impressive list of credentials accumulated by Robinson during his senior season. The Ft. Worth, Texas native was named the 2006 Byron Nelson Award recipient, which is given annually to a graduating senior that displays excellence academically, athletically as well as character and integrity. In addition, he was named a first-team Academic All-American and was named a first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection.
On the course, he competed in nine events and was also among the starting five at the NCAA Championship in Sunriver, Ore. Robinson posted a 73.54 stroke average and had a pair of runner-up finishes, placing second at The Maxwell and the NCAA Central Regional.
Only juniors and seniors are eligible to be a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar and must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. In addition, golfers must carry less than a 76.0 stroke average.
