Mike Hamilton

2005: Hamilton rushed for 961 yards on 193 carries in 2005, setting an OSU freshman rushing record. His rushing total also ranks 18th on the single- season list. Hamilton was named the Associated Press Offensive Newcomer of the Year and was also second-team All-Big 12. He started all 11 games for the Cowboys and averaged five yards a carry and 87.4 yards per game. Mike was also the squad's third-leading receiver with 20 catches for 161 yards. He finished the season with 1,122 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. His first-career 100-yard rushing game came against Florida Atlantic when he accumulated 105 yards. He also had four catches for 45 yards against the Owls. Mike rushed for a career-high 195 yards against eventual national champion Texas. He was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for his 161-yard performance against Texas Tech. Hamilton broke an 83-yard run against Texas Tech, which ranks as the 10th-longest in Oklahoma State history. 2004: Hamilton's redshirt season at Oklahoma State. High School: Hamilton was a Florida Top 100 prospect that rushed for a school record 4,267 yards and a school record 53 touchdowns. As a senior, he had 1,591 yards and 19 touchdowns. In his last game against Titusville, he had 322 yards rushing, one of two 300-yard games in his prep career. He also had two games where he scored five touchdowns. Those numbers earned him all-district and All-State honors in addition to being rated by recruiting analyst Tom Lemming as a Top 100 National Prospect. Hamilton was also listed as a Florida Top 30 prospect. He was named Space Coast Offensive Player of the Year by Florida Today. He was recruited by Ole Miss, Florida and Florida State. Personal: July 11, 1985, Mike is the son of Jean Thorpe and Michael Hamilton. He has two brothers, Tracy and Dnaka. Tracy plays baseball in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Mike is majoring in education at Oklahoma State.
