2005: Peña played in seven games a year ago and completed 89 of 179 passes for 1,102 yards and eight touchdowns. His 1,102 yards passing rank 27th on the single-season list. He passed for 194 yards and a touchdown at Texas A&M, and threw for two scores against Texas. Al had a career-high 351 yards and four touchdowns at Baylor. The 351 yards passing marked the fifth-best performance in school history. He also passed for 203 yards against Iowa State. 2004: Peña served as the backup quarterback and completed seven of 11 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown. He was one of four for six yards against Texas Tech. He completed both of his passes against Iowa State for 21 yards. He was a perfect on four attempts for 67 yards and a touchdown against Iowa State. 2003: Peña graduated a semester early from high school, and attended Georgia Tech in the spring of 2003. He transferred to OSU in the fall of 2003, and was considered a redshirt freshman with four seasons of eligibility remaining. High School: An honorable mention all-region selection by PrepStar Magazine, Peña passed for 1,600 yards and rushed for 1,200 as a senior with 11 touchdowns through the air and 13 via the rush. He set the school's season record for total offense with 2,800 yards. Al quarterbacked Leaner High School to the District 14 championship in Class 5A, and was the district Most Valuable Player. He spent his sophomore and junior seasons at Rio Grande City High School, where he was named South Texas All- Purpose Player of the Year as a junior. He had more than 3,200 yards passing and 2,400 yards rushing in his prep career. Personal: Born May 24, 1984, Al is the son of Jorge and Leticia Peña. He is majoring in economics at Oklahoma State.
