June 02, 2006 | Cowboy Golf
Senior Zack Robinson and sophomore Pablo Martin were both named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 men's at-large team.
Robinson, who was named the winner of the Byron Nelson Award on Tuesday, has already earned his undergraduate degree in political science and is currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration. Martin is currently working toward a degree in economics.
Martin and Robinson were also among the six Cowboys selected to the Ping All-Region squad announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Senior Chris Clarke, true freshman Trent Leon, junior Tyler Leon and redshirt freshman Jonathan Moore were also selected to the group.
First-year OSU head coach Mike McGraw was chosen as the Eaton Golf Pride Regional Coach of the Year. In his inaugural season, he has led the Cowboys to a No. 2 national ranking and four tournament titles.
Each regional squad is comprised of 15 golfers and any player ranked in the top 75 nationally in either Golfstat or the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Members of the all-region teams are eligible for All-America honors.
