Cowboy Golfers Complete Day Two At U.S. Open

Moore, a sophomore-to-be, posted a 77 on Thursday to stand in a tie for 90th place before a 78 on Friday dropped him into a tie for 121st at 155. He opened with four consecutive pars before playing the next three holes in 4-over and making the turn with a 3-over 39. The Vancouver, Wash. native played the first four holes of his inward nine in 6-over, but closed out his day in good fashion, finishing his final five holes in 1-under.
Posey, who began the day tied for 153rd place after an opening round of 84, finished with a 78 during his second round to end the day tied for 152nd place at 162, 22-over. The senior-to-be from Dallas, went out in 5-over 40 before a closing nine that included four pars and a birdie for a 3-over 38 score.
The duo will not compete during the weekend after missing the cut, which was set at 9-over 149.
Two of the three former Cowboys in the field did finish above the cut line as Bo Van Pelt followed his opening round 72 with a 5-over 75 to stand in a tie for 29th place at 147, while Charles Howell III moved into a tie for 42nd place at 148 after posting an impressive 1-over 71 during his second round.
Scott Verplank finished tied for 82nd place at 152 after his second consecutive 76.
