Robinson, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, was selected as the Academic All-America of the Year in the University Division as well. The 2006 Byron Nelson Award recipient already has earned his undergraduate degree at OSU with a 4.0 GPA in political science and is currently pursuing his master's degree in business administration.
Earlier this month, he helped the Cowboys capture the 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, giving them their 10th national title and first since 2000.
“It is a great honor to be the Academic All-America of the Year,” said Robinson. ”It is great to see so many student-athletes excelling in the classroom. They have all worked hard to be successful and I'm proud to be in that group. I've had wonderful support at Oklahoma State and they should be commended for their dedication to their student-athletes.”
Robinson was one of four repeat first-team selections in the university division.
The second-team University squad was led by Robinson's teammate in sophomore Pablo Martin. The honor capped an outstanding season that saw the Malaga, Spain native claim the Jack Nicklaus Award as the nation's top player and earn first-team All-America honors for the second consecutive year.
