Two Cowgirls Named Academic All-District

Oklahoma State cross country runners Michelle Prowse and Valentina Medina were named Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine as voted on by members of CoSIDA.

Prowse was named to the first team for the second consecutive year after accumulating a 4.0 GPA in health human performance.

A senior from Kamo, New Zealand, she managed to put together a solid senior campaign after suffering a stress fracture three months before the season started. She finished 34th at the Big 12 Championship and came within one place from being named all-region at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.

Medina, who was named to the second team, earned a 3.76 GPA in accounting.

The Cristobol, Venezuela product had an impressive season as she earned All-Big 12 and all-region honors. Medina consistently ran in OSU's top five throughout the season, as her 11th-place finish helped guide the Cowgirls to their first-ever Midwest Regional Championship.

Both student-athletes graduated in December 2005.
