Greathouse Qualifies for Regionals in the Shot Put

Greathouse, a Gonzales, Texas product, threw a distance of 47'5” (14.45-meters) to finish fifth in her flight.
“It was a good performance for LaKendra because she threw in a competitive flight,” throwing coach John Baumann said. “She was fired up and excited about her performance.
“I think she will train harder going into the conference and regional championships.”
In the long jump the Cowgirls were led by sophomore Moira Steyn. Steyn finished eighth with a distance of 19'4.25” (5.90-meters). Junior Zivile Siksnelyte finished 14th, jumping a distance of 18'9.25” (5.72-meters).
Day two of the Texas Relays will continue for OSU tonight with junior Stephanie Lovely competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 9:00 p.m.
