Greathouse Improves Regional Qualifying Mark at Kansas Relays
April 21, 2006 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Oklahoma State sophomore LaKendra Greathouse improved her regional qualifying mark in the shot put with a fourth-place finish at the Kansas Relays Friday, in Lawrence, Kan.
Greathouse, a sophomore from Gonzales, Texas, threw a personal best mark of 47'9” (14.59-meters). The mark came at a meet that head coach Rene Sepulveda believed was the most competitive field that Greathouse has competed in this season.
“With the Kansas Relays being a much bigger meet, (LaKendra) handled the competition the way we wanted her to,” Sepulveda said.
With seven student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, the Cowgirls will be looking to add to that list Saturday at the TCU Invitational in Ft. Worth, Texas.
OSU will compete its jumpers and distance runners with the events starting at noon, at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex on the TCU campus.
