Cowboys Topple No. 28 Wichita State

Shelby Ford was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, and eight of the nine Cowboys in Wednesday's lineup collected a hit as OSU snapped
WSU (28-14) got on the scoreboard in its first at bat. Josh Workman walked to lead off the game, and Derek Schermerhorn's double to the left-center field gap brought Workman home for a 1-0 Shockers' lead.
The Cowboys wasted no time gaining the lead in the bottom of the first. Walks to three of the first four OSU batters loaded the bases, and with two outs, Shelby Ford delivered a two-RBI single. Adam Carr then gave the Pokes a 3-1 advantage with a run scoring single through the right side.
OSU added to its lead in the second. Corey Brown followed a Keanon Simon walk with a double, and Tyler Mach's line out scored Simon from third.
The Shockers cut their deficit in half in the third as Schermerhorn again delivered an RBI hit, this one a single that scored Workman from second and made the score 4-2. Schermerhorn finished the contest 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
OSU seized control of the game in the middle innings. Ford drove in his second run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and the Cowboys rallied for four runs in the sixth.
Mach got the scoring started in the sixth with an RBI double to the gap in right-center field. Deik Scram followed that with a two-RBI triple to center to make the score 8-2, and a sacrifice fly by Ty Wright added OSU's ninth run.
Starter Charles Benoit picked up the win for the Cowboys to improve to 4-3 on the season. The sophomore southpaw allowed just two runs on four hits in 5.1 innings of work.
Scram finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and also scored three runs, while Mach added to his team leading RBI total by driving in two runs.
The Cowboys return to Big 12 Conference action this weekend against
