Four Cowboys Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

An economics major, Leon was a first-team selection for the second consecutive year. The Dallas, Texas native has competed in eight events this season and has posted five top-20 finishes on the season, including a fifth-place tie at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate two weeks ago.
Martin, who is also an economics major, was named to the squad for the first time in his career. The Malaga, Spain native has posted a pair of victories this season on his way to a team-best 70.50 stroke average.
A native of Vancouver, Wash., Moore was named to the squad for the first time in his career as well. The economics major is currently carrying a string of three consecutive top-five finishes that includes a pair of runner-up showings.
Zack Robinson, who has already earned a political science degree and is currently working on a master's in business administration, was named to the squad for the fourth time in his career. The Ft. Worth, Texas native posted his best finish of the season last weekend at the Aggie Invitational, tying for 15h place.
Nominated by each institution's director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, the academic all-league men's golf squad consisted of 26 first-team members combined with 10 on the second team. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
