Three Cowboys Named To Big 12's 10th Anniversary Team

Howell led OSU to its ninth NCAA title in 2000 and became the school's seventh individual national champion after shattering the NCAA scoring mark with his 23-under-par total of 265. He also won the Big 12 title and was named the league's athlete of the year that season as well.
The Augusta, Ga., native earned All-America and all-conference honors in each of his three seasons at OSU and was named the national player of the year following his junior season. Howell turned professional following his junior campaign and was named the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year in 2001.
Loar was also a member of the Cowboys' 2000 national championship team and earned All-America honors in each of his four seasons. The Rockwall, Texas native is one of 11 players in school history to achieve All-America status on four occasions.
He won five events during his collegiate career and finished as the runner-up to Howell at the 2000 Big 12 Championship. Loar is currently a member of the Asian Tour where he has posted a pair of victories.
During his two seasons in Stillwater, Mahan was named a first-team All-American twice and was the Big 12 Player of the Year both years. The national player of the year in 2003, the McKinney, Texas native holds the school's 18-hole scoring record after carding a 62 during his sophomore season.
Mahan rolled to the Big 12 individual title in 2003 and was runner-up at the 2002 U.S. Amateur. He joined the professional ranks after his junior campaign and is currently a member of the PGA Tour.
