The hammer throw will begin with the men's event at 4 p.m., followed by the women's event at 5 p.m. The women will be represented by OSU's Branighan Vann and Deleanor Kirkpatrick.
Vann and Kirkpatrick are coming off personal best performances in the weight throw at the Big 12 Indoor Championships. The duo set marks of 46'9” (14.25-meters) and 57'11” (17.65-meters), respectively.
Last year, Kirkpatrick finished third in the event with a throw of 154'1” (46.96-meters). OSU was led by former standout Delisa McClain, who threw a then school record of 202'11” (61.86-meters). McClain went on to break the record once again later in the season at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships, setting a mark of 212'03” (64.69-meters).
