The Cowboys are 5-1 after a three-game series sweep of Western Illinois last weekend in Stillwater, a series in which they scored 36 runs and collected 44 hits. The 5-1 start is OSU's best ever under third-year head coach Frank Anderson. OSU is 5-2 all-time against Cal State-Northridge.

The Matadors are 8-8 on the season but have lost seven of their last nine games. CSUN played 14 games (one exhibition) at home during the month of February and has not been on the road since opening the season at Arizona State Jan. 27-29.

The Matadors topped OSU, 9-4, at the Shreveport Classic in Shreveport, La.
