Cowboy Golf Remains In Fourth Place At Southern Highlands Collegiate

The Cowboys shaved six strokes off their opening round score and have a 36-hole total of 592, 16-over. OSU will enter tomorrow's final round one shot behind UCLA for third place. The Bruins were the only squad on the day to break par, carding a 287 to stand at 591, while first-round co-leaders UNLV and Georgia remained tied atop the leaderboard at 589 after putting up matching rounds of 294.
Individually, OSU sophomore Pablo Martin moved from a tie for fifth into a two-way deadlock for third place with an even-par 144 total. The Malaga, Spain native posted a 1-under 71 during his second round and trails Georgia's Chris Kirk by four shots after Kirk fired a 67 on Saturday to move from fifth to first place.
Redshirt freshman Jonathan Moore continued his charge toward earning his first career top-10 finish after posting a 72 to move from a tie for 11th into a tie for sixth place at 146.
Junior Tyler Leon rebounded from a 78 on Friday with a 73 to move up 14 spots into a tie for 28th place at 151, while senior Chris Clarke dipped into a tie for 39th place at 153 after carding a 77.
True freshman Trent Leon turned in a 78 and will begin play tomorrow tied for 47th place with a 10-over 154 score.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow morning at 8:45 (MST) and will be paired with Georgia Tech and Clemson at the par-72, 7,510-yard layout.
