Cowboys Escape Pepperdine, 90-74
December 03, 2006 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State dominated much of the first half, but the Waves (1-6) came out firing after the intermission, cutting into a 35-19 halftime deficit with a run that pulled Pepperdine within 61-56 with 8:39 remaining.
After each team hit layups, the Cowboys (9-0) slowly built a lead that stretched to 69-60 on a jumper by Curry and to 74-62 on another Curry jumper. Pepperdine never got closer than 10 after that.
Boggan added 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Obi Muonelo added 16 points and seven assists, while Terrel Harris and David Monds had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Lea Marvin scored 14 of his team-high 20 points in the second half for Pepperdine. Chase Griffin added 18 points and Tomas Pranciliauskas added 11. The Waves scored 55 points in the second half, the most by a Cowboy opponent in 10 years.
Oklahoma State will return to action on Tuesday night as the Cowboys travel to New York to face Syracuse in the first game of the Jimmy V Classic. The game will be televised live from Madison Square Garden on ESPN.
