Oklahoma State Post-Practice Quotes
Dec. 26, 2006 • Shreveport, La.
OSU head coach Mike Gundy
On today's practice
“We have accomplished a lot in the last few days here. It was nice out there today. I felt like I was on South Beach today, compared to the last couple of days. Our players have really enjoyed the last few days here and we had another good practice.”
On his bowl routine
“Today was basically our Thursday practice on a game week. There are a lot of different theories on how to approach bowl week. We feel more comfortable with staying in a normal game week routine. I have seen it done several ways. Sometimes you have great preparation and do not play well. I think ultimately it comes down to the players.”
On the team's readiness
“I think we have had a good month of preparation. I think we have had a good week of practice. These last four practices may have been the best we have had. We have had some spirited practices, and we feel good about were we are.”
On Alabama
“Like I said when we first found out that we were going to play Alabama. Do not let their 6-6 record tell you what kind of team they have. When four of your loses are Arkansas, LSU, Auburn and Tennessee, I am not sure anyone in the country would want to take those guys on the road week in and week out. They are a very physical football team. They can play competitively with any team in our league on any given week. They are a good football team. They have played very well on defense. Offensively, between the 30s they have moved the football against good teams. In my opinion they have just had some problems in the redzone.”
